New major version of Android messenger

We updated our instant messenger application for Android platform, it is Bopup Messenger version 1.10.0 This version added few important changes and enhancements that made the application more stable and useful.

Connection with IM server is kept even the device is in a sleep mode
This is much important addition that makes users to be online and accessible all time once the messenger started on their device.

The messenger wakes up the device on a new message
If device in a sleep mode then the messenger wakes it up to show notification on a new message on screen for a short time.

Few interface improvements that include new divider line in Contact List and status text on sign in
There is a minor change in Contact List interface that improved a divider line with a light gray color between contacts. It has margins on left and right edges of the screen. The app also fixes displaying status text while user signs in.

Fixed app error when service on the IM server stops
Bopup Messenger fixes error that occurs if IM service is stopped on the messaging server

Major version 1.2.0 of Bopup Messenger for Android

The new version 1.2.0 of Bopup Messenger for Android is available. This version has a lot of improvements and fixes so we recommend to upgrade the application.

What's new:

The Contacts tab is now shown before Messages
We decided to move the Contacts tab that includes assigned groups and users list to the left and show it prior Messages tab. So now the Android messenger operates like Bopup Messenger for Windows desktop.

The Login tab contains a link to Bopup.me test server
Here is a new addition that is now supported by the messenger application. We launched new Bopup.me website that is also running a shared instance of Bopup Communication Server. This server is designed for evaluation purposes only and it allows to use pre-defined test user accounts in order to establish connection with the IM server and evaluate how the communication works.

Fixed error on selecting messaging groups in Contact List
Another critical fix was selection of assigned group in Contact List. Previous version of the instant messenger could crash on selecting any shown group.

Fixed app crash on connecting to IM server if the messenger was manually disconnected prior this
We noticed that the messenger application crashed everytime on subsequent connect to IM server if it was previously disconnected manually. This error has been also fixed in the recent version.

A lot of interface improvements and fixes
A huge amount of minor fixes and GUI improvements including colors, displaying titles, showing incoming and outgoing messages. They are all important.

Update of the Bopup IM suite

New versions both of the IM clients and the instant messaging server are available.  There are minor version updates but they come with useful improvements and changes.

What's new

Login action using Enter key
Both Bopup Messenger and Bopup Observer now accept Enter (Return) key to sign in on Login page when Private login and password authentication is used. So there is no need now to move and click mouse on the Login button, just press Enter key. Do it faster!

The IM server removes space symbols on the end
Management Console of the communication server checks and removes spaces on the end of user names, groups, news, Organizational Units and distribution tasks. This improvement avoid the situation when a user name looks correct but is different.

Edit action using F2 hotkey
The server console now supports F2 shortcut to call edit action. This is useful improvement.

IM server rebuilds contacts up to 1,000 users
We increased the limit for the function that automatically rebuilds users' Contact Lists when any changes occurs in user structure on the communication server. Now the function can be turned on for 1,000 and below users in database. The previous limit was 550 users.

Messaging clients fixed displaying users in the contacts
Starting from Bopup Communication Server version 5.0 existing versions of the messenger software could display usernames in Contact List in invalid format. Now this problem has been fixed.
